Artist Statement
My interest in art started very early in life, and I been involved in art creating, designing and teaching ever since. Early in my career I earned my living as an artist working for a major company designing monograms, doing graphic work and illustrations for local newspaper publication. During this time, I continued university studies earning both a bachelor and a master's degree in arts.
I have traveled to Mexico where I studied and toured extensively over several areas. Later, I traveled to African and the European continents. I have been fascinated with spirituality and religion in the worlds people where ever I have visited. Often, my inspiration comes from the exposures to the many religions of the world as I seek truth in my paintings.
I love watercolor for directness, purity and the wonderful accidents that can happen in a painting. I appreciate acrylic and the buttery feel that this paint gives to the subjects that I paint.
